Quick Summary
Kraken has been named the Official Crypto Exchange Supporter of the FIFA World Cup 2026, covering 16 host cities across the US, Canada, and Mexico.
The 2026 tournament will be the largest World Cup in history, featuring 48 teams, 104 matches, and an estimated six billion cumulative global viewers.
Kraken, one of the world's longest-standing cryptocurrency exchanges, has been named the Official Crypto Exchange Supporter of the FIFA World Cup 2026. The announcement marks one of the most high-profile partnerships between the crypto industry and global sports, as the tournament prepares to welcome an estimated six billion cumulative viewers over its seven-week run.
A Global Stage for Crypto Adoption
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to be the largest edition of the tournament in history, featuring 48 national teams across 104 matches, hosted across 16 cities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Running from June 11 to July 19, the event presents a rare opportunity to introduce crypto-native financial tools to hundreds of millions of fans worldwide.
Arjun Sethi, co-CEO of Kraken parent company Payward, underscored the significance of the partnership: "Football is the only thing that moves the entire planet at the same time. For seven weeks, six billion people will follow the same matches, beyond borders and languages. Money should work the same way. The 2026 FIFA World Cup is an opportunity to show millions of people what they've been missing: an open, borderless financial system, accessible to anyone from their mobile phone."
Fan Activations Across Host Cities
Kraken's involvement begins on June 10 with the FIFA World Cup 2026 Countdown Concert, a multi-city event held the day before the tournament's opening fixture. The exchange is set to deploy fan-focused product experiences across host cities in Europe and North America, giving attendees direct exposure to its digital asset trading platform.
FIFA's Chief Commercial Officer, Romy Gai, highlighted the alignment between the two organisations: "As we prepare to welcome the world to the biggest FIFA World Cup ever, we are delighted to partner with Kraken, an organization that shares our commitment to innovation and technology."
Building on a Strong Sporting Legacy
Kraken's World Cup deal is the latest in a series of high-profile sports partnerships for the exchange. The platform has previously aligned itself with Tottenham Hotspur FC, Atletico de Madrid, RB Leipzig, and the Atlassian Williams Racing Formula 1 team. Each of these partnerships has been designed to normalise crypto access for mainstream sports fans.
The exchange currently serves customers in more than 190 countries and offers access to over 600 digital assets. With the World Cup offering an unmatched global audience, the partnership represents a significant distribution opportunity for Kraken at a critical moment for retail crypto adoption.
