SPCXx tokens are backed 1:1 by real SpaceX shares and tradable 24/7 on the blockchain.
Crypto exchange Kraken has unveiled a new pathway for retail investors to participate in the much-anticipated SpaceX initial public offering (IPO), leveraging the xStocks tokenized equities platform. The move underscores the accelerating convergence between crypto-native infrastructure and traditional capital markets.
Kraken announced on Friday that SpaceX will serve as the inaugural offering on xStocks IPO Access, a product that enables eligible users to gain exposure to initial public offerings through blockchain-backed tokenized equity instruments. To participate, users must hold a verified Kraken account and apply through the Kraken mobile application. The feature is not accessible via Kraken Pro or its desktop interface.
The IPO Access product is available across the European Economic Area and more than 110 international markets. However, participation is currently restricted for users based in the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom due to existing regulatory constraints.
Tokenized Shares Backed 1:1 by Underlying Equity
Eligible investors who receive an allocation will be issued SPCXx tokens, each backed 1:1 by the underlying SpaceX share. These tokens are tradable around the clock on Kraken and other xStocks-integrated platforms, granting investors flexible, continuous access to their holdings beyond the constraints of traditional market hours.
SpaceX Eyes $1.8 Trillion Valuation in Record Debut
SpaceX is scheduled to begin public trading on June 12, 2026. According to Bloomberg, investor demand has already surpassed the total number of shares on offer, with the company seeking to raise approximately $75 billion at a minimum valuation of $1.8 trillion. If realized, this would eclipse Saudi Aramco's landmark $29.4 billion offering in 2019, making it the largest IPO in history.
The company's commercial growth is largely propelled by Starlink, its satellite internet division, which has emerged as a core revenue and profitability engine. Nevertheless, SpaceX continues to invest heavily in its launch and space exploration programs, and questions remain about how public market investors will price those capital-intensive operations once shares begin trading.
The Kraken announcement reflects a broader industry trend of crypto exchanges positioning themselves as gateways to traditional financial assets, blurring the boundaries between digital asset platforms and conventional brokerage services.
